Hey Leslie, My name is Sherry Lopez. My sister is Angie Cooper.I was dignosed with breast cancer at the age of 37. I also have no history of breast cancer in my family. I didn’t even have a lump!!!!! My cancer was picked up on a baseline mammagram. My first and only mammagram. The tumor was small but the doctors advised me to have a masectomy. I ended up having a bilateral masectomy because I didn’t want to have to go back through the entire ordeal if it happened to appear in the other breast. I had 7 surgeries that year. I have 4 children. They are now 10,9,6,4. At the time they were 9,7,4, and 2. I guess my point is God does get right in the middle of the situation and he makes sure everyone gets what they need mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Faith is what carries us through. Your faith is incredibly evident!!!!!! One of my favorite verses and one that pulled me through tough moments is jeremiah 29:11 For I KNOW the plans I have for you. He does know the plan and we have to trust that he will keep us safe and will protect us!!! I know you have seen yourself surrounded by his love as you look at all the people he has placed around you. Keep your head up. You will survive this!!!!!!!! I am thinking of you and praying for your full recovery. Sherry Lopez

Happy Anniversary!! Thank you, Lord, for the many ways your have shown yourself to Leslie and her family this past year. We would not have chosen the cancer but we rejoice in how you have met every need and even some wants throughout the year!

When he was ten, my brother came home from two-week Y camp many years ago having never opened the little trunk he took with him except to retrieve his swimsuit and one towel. The clothes were all clean---but musty. :-)

Of course, if my mother sewed his name in all his underwear, as she'd done in mine, that might have had something to do with his reluctance to chance leaving any of it lying around.

Ruffled-dee sounds like a perfectly good description of a word, but to describe friend... hmmm, I guess I never have thought of my friends as being ruffled-dee. I will call her ruffled-dee and see what she says! :)

I have made new friends Andy & Kellie Coburn!! We are so excite to have them at New Albany ARP Church, New Albany, MS. They and their girls are a GOD send. In talking with Kellie one day I told her that I had a colon cancer diagnosis Sept. 2006, ( my only son's senior year in high school), had 8 inches removed and went through chemo. Feb. 2008 (my son's second semester as a college freshman) I was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer with a tumor on each adrenal gland and a lesion on my left shoulder blade, how weird is that? Kellie told me about her friend in GA. that had colon cancer and suggested I check out your blog. We seem to have this in common. I am on an aggressive chemo regime and will be on some dosage of chemo for the rest of my life. I can tell you that I know exactly how you feel. The emotions, the need to feel normal and have a normal life for your family. These are difficult things and take a lot of energy (that we don't have). I had scans run this past Monday-the tumors have not grown! If you were to see me you would think, there is nothing wrong with me. I look normal (never really was normal in the first place HA), and I feel normal. It is funny when people that know my condition see me and say "Well, you don't LOOK sick." I find myself apologizing to them, "Sorry to disappoint you" I say. And then I tell them that you never know what someone is walking around with in their body or in their heart. Sorry to ramble. I just wanted to introduce myself to you and to tell you that you and your family are on my prayer list.
